MY MISSION

Hi, I’m Gerard.
My journey with Japan began at 18, when I first set foot in the Land of the Rising Sun. Today, at 27, I’ve traveled back seven times, each trip deepening my connection with the country.
My relationship with Japan has always been about the road less traveled. At 19, I began hitchhiking across the islands—a young, solo traveler fueled by curiosity. The kindness of the people I met along the way didn’t just help me reach my destinations; it shaped the way I see the world.
In 2023, I took my biggest leap yet: I spent an entire year living and traveling in a bright yellow camper van. That van wasn’t just my transport; it was my home. During this time, my journey caught the attention of the popular TV Tokyo show, YOUは何しに日本へ? (Why Did You Come to Japan?). Appearing in three episodes turned my quiet adventure into a nationwide story, and soon, I was being greeted by friendly faces all over the country.
Currently, I’m based back home in Barcelona, but my heart is already back in the mountains and coastal roads. My goal is to move permanently to the Japanese countryside by 2028 and dedicate myself to sharing the beauty of this country through content creation.
My mission is simple: I want to help fellow adventurers experience the real Japan. Beyond the neon lights and typical tourist trails lies a world of hidden wonders, and I’m here to help you explore it with the respect and wonder it deserves.
